PianoLab

PianoLab at Paul L. Dunbar

Launched in January 2023, PianoLab brings intimate, hands-on keyboard learning experiences to students in Cleveland through free lessons and an inclusive curriculum. With programs currently running at Paul L. Dunbar and the Cleveland School of the Arts, we currently serve over 50 students each semester.

K-8 students enrolled at Paul L. Dunbar, a CMSD school on Cleveland’s near west side receive 10 weeks of after-school instruction during the fall and spring semesters.

We are grateful to have an incredible staff managing our PianoLab program. Jessica Mindlin, a pianist and experienced pedagogue, is the PianoLab Instructor. Prerna Agarwal is the PianoLab Coordinator and brings with her many years of experience in youth-focused nonprofit programming.

PianoLab at Cleveland School of the Arts

The Cleveland School of the Arts (CSA) PianoLab, launched in late February 2024, is offered to students in grades 9-12 majoring in music. Taught by pianist and pedagogue, Joseph Leaman, the curriculum in this setting is designed to teach students general musicianship from the keyboard, with an emphasis on keyboard skills, giving them the tools to excel in music beyond high school.
