Volunteer with Piano Cleveland
Competition-specific opportunities
Contestant Host
As part of the Cleveland International Piano Competition and CIPC for Young Artists, we invite international pianists to come to Cleveland. For many of our contestants, this is their first time visiting the United States. Our Contestant Hosts help guide our participants through their experience in Cleveland and ensure that they have a wonderful and unforgettable experience at our competition.
Duties may include:
- Providing forgotten toiletries, wardrobe emergencies, etc. for your contestant
- Attending performances to provide your contestant support, since they may not have family/friends in the Cleveland area
- Providing transportation to/from the airport
- Being available to attend the Contestant Host Orientation before the competition begins
There are many benefits to becoming a Contestant Host, which include:
- Becoming an ambassador for Cleveland and the Cleveland International Piano Competition
- You will receive FREE tickets to competition performances that include your contestant
- Complimentary tickets to the Opening Ceremony and Reception
- An invitation to an exclusive competition preview party
- Creating a lifelong friendship with a contestant
We are currently recruiting contestant hosts for the 2021 Cleveland International Piano Competition.
We hope you will consider joining us!
Annual Opportunities
Ushers
Would you like to attend our competition performances and concerts for free? Please consider volunteering as an usher. Ushers are needed at sessions for competition performances, masterclasses, guest artist recitals, and other concerts. Make your own schedule and experience some of the best piano performances that Cleveland has to offer!
Student Opportunities
If you are a local high school or college student interested in the arts, Piano Cleveland may be a perfect fit for you to learn a bit more about the field and help a local organization. Volunteering can be done on a short- or long-term basis.
Please contact Crystal Carlson, Director of Operations, at crystal.carlson@pianocleveland.org if you are interested in any volunteer opportunities.
