Contestant Resident Coordinator

Get to know our wonderful Cleveland International Piano Competition contestants as our Contestant Resident Coordinator! You will live in the dorms at Case Western Reserve University with our Quarter-Finalists (ages 21-32) and provide needed support as they navigate their time in the competition.

Sixteen Quarter-Finalists will be here from July 20 – 31, then eight Semi-Finalists will stay through August 4, then four Finalists will be in the dorms from August 5 – 11.

Each contestant is also assigned a contestant host, who will be supporting them by bringing necessities to the dorms, taking them out to meals, and driving them to any performances or practice space as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Main point of contact for CIPC contestants from July 20 – August 11
    • Includes answering questions about where to get groceries/food, helping with directions, helping problem solve any residence-related issues (laundry, etc.)
  • Report daily to Corey Knick, Artist and Production Manager, with questions or other issues that arise.
  • Record piano choice for each round for each contestant.
  • Help coordinate chamber and concerto rehearsals by ensuring that contestants arrive on time.
  • Orientation with Piano Cleveland in late June/early July.
Requirements
  • A welcoming personality and willingness to problem solve and help others.
  • Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing situations.
  • RA or other experience with student groups a plus.
Compensation
  • $2,000 stipend
  • Additional $30/day for food
