Outdoor Production Assistant

Help bring piano music to neighborhoods across Northeast Ohio! As part of the 50th anniversary of the Cleveland International Piano Competition, Piano Cleveland is partnering with The Concert Truck to bring free community performances of our exceptional competition contestants and The Concert Truck artists to locations all around Cleveland.

Your role would be to help set up and tear down The Concert Truck for each performance. During each performance, you would work with Piano Cleveland staff and volunteers to hand out materials or help run any surrounding activities.

The 2024 CIPC Concert Truck residency is generously supported by The Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Supporting Foundation.

Dates: July 21 – 27, 2024. Each day will feature two performances. There will be one off-day during the week.

Responsibilities
  • Arrive one hour prior to each show time to set up The Concert Truck, including setting up the stage on the truck, putting speakers in place, and wheeling the piano into place.
  • Tear down after each performance, including packing up the stage, piano, and speakers as well as ensuring any Piano Cleveland materials are secure inside the truck.
  • Work with Piano Cleveland staff and volunteers to run surround programming during performances and ensure engaging community experiences for all audiences.
Requirements
  • Comfortable working outdoors.
  • Able to step in and out of U-Haul-style box truck and lift up to 20lb.
  • Friendly demeanor.
  • Welcoming to audiences new to classical music.
  • A/V experience a plus.
Compensation

$35/hr for est. 30-35 hrs
