Bo Zhang

Bo Zhang has been hailed as a pianist with superb technique, unique creativity, and artistic understanding. He is the First Prize winner of both the Frederic Chopin International Piano Competition-Valldemossa (2017) and the Lang Lang Shenzhen Futian International Piano Competition for Young Pianists (2017), and the Second Prize winner of the Rachmaninoff International Youth Piano Competition in Moscow (2018).

Born in Zhejiang, China, Bo Zhang began his piano studies at the age of five and gave his first public performance the following year. He received the Young Music Talents Scholarship at five years old, presented by the renowned violinist, Zhou Qian. At the age of 12, Bo gave his debut recital in Beijing. Since then, he has been invited to perform as soloist in Shenzhen, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Nanjing, New York, Cleveland, and Palma, among other cities. He studied at the Beijing and Shanghai conservatories with renowned pianists and educators, including Dan Shao, Hongbo Quan, and Zhe Tang.

Bo has been studying at The Juilliard School since 2019 in the studios of Matti Raekallio, Emanuel Ax, and Shai Wosner. He won the school’s Kovner Fellowship and the piano concerto competition in 2023.
