Dmitry Mayboroda studied in Moscow at the Tschaikowsky Conservatory and at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Munich with Professor Adrian Oetiker. He is currently completing his studies with Boris Petrushansky, a student of Heinrich Neuhaus, at the Accademia Pianistica Internazionale Incontri col Maestro in Imola.
He became a finalist and received the special prize, Composer Bruno Mantovani, at the Clara Haskil Piano Competition in Vevey (2013). As an audience favorite, he also won the Second Prize at the Concurso Internacional de Piano Premio Jaén in Andalusia (2017). One year later, he received the Steinway Förderpreis Klassik Munich.
The Serge Rachmaninoff Foundation established by the composer’s grandson, Alexander Rachmaninoff, supported Dmitry Mayboroda from 2010-2015. He participated in international music festivals, including Ravinia Festival, Rheingau Festival, Piano aux Jacobins, and Winter Festival in Brazil. As a soloist he has performed with various symphony and chamber orchestras, including Vienna Philharmonic, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Bavarian State Orchestra, Orchestra Filarmonica di Torino, Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Orchestre national de Belgique, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, Orquestra Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo, and Orchestra of the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg.
He actively cooperates with such conductors as Marin Alsop, Andrei Boreiko, Giancarlo Guerrero, Lorenzo Viotti, Frédéric Chaslin, Darrell Ang, Yutaka Sado, and many others. He has performed as a solo pianist for Bayerisches Staatsballett in the following ballets: Anna Karenina, The Lady of the Camellias, With a Chance of Rain, Jewels, Pictures at an Exhibition, and Le Parc.
Dmitry regularly performs in chamber ensembles. Trio Qualia consisted of musicians of the Bayerisches Staatsorchester, Hanna Asieieva ,and Darima Tcyrempilova, and was founded in 2020.
In the summer of 2023, the pianist made his debut at the Salzburg Festival.
