Born in Seoul in 1999, Jihyung Youn graduated from Yewon School and Seoul Arts High School of Music with top honors, and graduated summa cum laude from Yonsei University’s Department of Piano. She is currently studying at The Juilliard School where she is the recipient of the Mieczyslaw Munz Scholarship. She has won a number of competitions, including Korea’s most recognized competitions—namely Busan Maru International Music Festival Competition, and JoongAng Music Concours. She was also selected as a Semi-Finalist at the 62nd and 63rd Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition, 70th Gian Battista Viotti International Music Competition, and the 16th Seoul International Music Competition.
She participated in a number of concerts such as Kumho Young Artist Recital, Gyeonggi Young Artist Recital, Yonsei Symphony Orchestra Subscription Concert, Seoul Arts High School Subscription Concert, Seoul Arts High School Young Artist Concert, Kukmin Daily Debut Concert, and the Internationale Sommerakademie Mozarteum Akademiekonzert. She has performed several times with the Seongnam Philharmonic Orchestra, Gyeonggi Philharmonic Orchestra, Busan Philharmonic Orchestra, New World Philharmonic, Hankyung Philharmonic Orchestra, and Gumnansae Youth Orchestra. She is currently studying with Professor Soyeon Kate Lee.
