Born in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, JIYUAN DENGHOU began learning piano with his father at the age of four. Since the age of 10, he has been studying under Professor Zhou Yunqing from the Central Conservatory of Music.
In June 2018, JiYuan was invited by the Ministry of Education of Kazakhstan (funded) to perform at the closing ceremony of the Astana International Music Festival. The following year, he won Fifth Prize in the Children’s Group A at the International Youth Piano Showcase hosted by the Affiliated Middle School of Shanghai Conservatory of Music.
In 2021, he was awarded the Special Prize in the Northeast Division at the Xinghai Cup National Youth Piano Competition, and he won the Chinese Works Award in the Children’s Amateur Group A2 at the Shenzhen Lang Lang Futian Cup Piano Competition and performed at the closing ceremony in 2023. The same year, he secured Third Prize in the Professional Group A at the 11th Steinway National Youth Piano Competition. In 2024, he claimed the Fourth Prize in the Professional Juvenile Group A and the Commissioned Works Award at the National Finals of the Xinghai Cup Piano Competition. JiYuan also received the 9th Fan Jianqin Memorial Scholarship and won First Prize in Group A at the 19th “Academy Cup” Piano Concerto Competition of the Central Conservatory of Music in 2024.
In May 2025, JiYuan collaborated with the Symphony Orchestra of the Central Conservatory of Music to perform Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in C Major, Op. 15 at the Opera Hall of the Central Conservatory of Music. In October 2025, he was shortlisted for the Semi-Finals of the 15th China Golden Bell Award for Music.
