Mia Pečnik

Mia Pečnik is a student at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln, studying with Professor Andreas Frölich. Since 2017, she has studied at the Talent Master Courses University of Music in Brescia. She is the winner of several leading awards for young musicians in Croatia such as the Young Musician of the Year chosen by the Zagreb Philharmonic and the “Oscar of Knowledge” prizes awarded by the Ministry of Education. She has won more than 80 first and special prizes in international competitions.

Mia has performed with orchestra nearly 30 times. Her first performance was at the age of 11, and at the age of 15, she had her debut with the Zagreb Philharmonic. She has performed with orchestras all over Croatia, Europe, and Asia, of which the following performances stand out: in Kuwait City, in Santa Cecilia Hall, Rome, and with the Kraków Philharmonic Orchestra in Kraków, Poland.

Mia has taken masterclasses with distinguished pedagogues and pianists such as Andrzej Jasiński, Piotr Paleczny, Dang Thai Son, Jacques Rouvier, Michel Béroff, Eugen Indjic, Milana Chernyavska, Pavel Gililov, Vladimir Ovchinnikov, Natalia Trull, Vladimir Viardo, Grigory Gruzman, Janina Fialkowska, Andrea Bonatta, and Ruben Dalibaltayan.

In March 2022 she recorded an album with the Zagreb Philharmonic and Maestro J. Latham-Koenig featuring Dora Pejačević’s Concerto for Piano and Orchestra in G-Minor, Op. 33 for Croatia Records.
