Ryunosuke Kishimoto

Ryunosuke Kishimoto was born in Kanagawa, Japan. After studying at the Sapporo Conservatoire with Noriyuki Miyazawa and Mizue Tanase, he moved to Vienna in September 2021 and started studying at the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna, with Professor Jan Jiracek von Arnim. In 2016, he won First Prize at the 70th Student Music Concours of Japan, in addition to scholarships from the Yasuko Fukuda Foundation and the Kanpo Seimei Foundation. Other recent accomplishments include a Silver Medal and scholarship from Seitoku University for participation in the 41st Piano Teacher’s National Association of Japan (PTNA) Piano Competition, Second Prize and Audience Prize in the 72nd Student Music Concours of Japan, and Semi-Finalist in the 44th PTNA Competition (Superior Grade). In addition to receiving First Prize at the Himes Competition in Sapporo, he was also offered a scholarship from the Himes Foundation.

Outside of Japan, he was a Semi-Finalist of the Cleveland International Piano Competition for Young Artists in 2018, George Enescu International Competition in 2020, a Finalist of the Hilton Head International Piano Competition, and Gold Medalist of the Premier Music International Competition Pro in Hungary. Ryunosuke has performed solo recitals in many cities in Japan, such as Sapporo, Tokyo, Yokohama, and Kochi and internationally at the Fészek Artists’ Club in Hungary, Bank Austria Salon in Old City Hall in Vienna, and in an online concert of University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna. He attended masterclasses with numerous well-known mentors, including Dina Yoffe, Rena Shereshevskaya, and Vladimir Ovchinnikov. In 2020 he performed at the gala concert of Internationale Klavierakademie Murrhardt with a recommendation from Professor Christian A. Pohl.
