Tian Xia

TIAN XIA is a 14-year-old pianist from China. He is currently a Grade Eight piano major at the Affiliated Middle School of the Xinghai Conservatory of Music, where he was admitted in 2024 with the highest entrance examination score, ranking first overall. Tian studies with Vivian Li, Associate Professor of Piano at the Xinghai Conservatory of Music and previously studied with pianist Lin Ye. 

Tian has received numerous honors in national and international competitions. In 2025, he was awarded First Prize and a Scholarship at the Málaga International Music Festival Piano Competition (Spain). That same year, he earned First Prize in the Professional Category A at the Steinway & Sons International Youth Piano Competition Southern China Division, followed by a National Award of Excellence in the Professional Category A at the China Finals. In 2024, Tian was featured as a performer at the Closing Concert of the SIMA Classic International Music Festival (Poland). He was selected as a competitor in the Cleveland International Piano Institute Young Artists Competition in 2023, where he was the youngest of sixteen participants worldwide. Earlier achievements include Second Prize at the National Finals of the Pearl River·Kayserburg National Piano Competition in the Amateur Group B (2022), First Prize in the Children’s Group A at the Steinway International Youth Piano Competition East China Division II (2019), and Gold Medal at the Jiangsu Province Little Jasmine Piano Competition in the Kindergarten Group (2018). 

As a performer, Tian has appeared as a soloist with orchestras in Europe. In 2025, he performed Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3 with the Málaga Symphony Orchestra as a competition winner. In 2023, he performed Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 23 in A major, K. 488 with the Naples Symphony Orchestra at the Todi International Music Festival in Italy. He also performed at the Closing Concert of the SIMA Classic International Music Festival in Poland in 2024. 

Most recently, Tian was selected as a competitor in the First Round of the Cleveland International Piano Competition for Young Artists, Junior Division (2026). Beyond the piano, he enjoys sports, collecting aircraft models, reading, and exploring culinary traditions, interests that continue to inspire and enrich his artistic perspective.
