Vitaly Starikov began his piano career under the tutelage of Sergey Beloglazov at the Ural Music College in Yekaterinburg from 2002 until 2013. He pursued his Bachelor’s degree at the Moscow Conservatory, where he studied with Vera Gornostayeva and Eliso Virsaladze, graduating in 2018. In September 2019, Vitaly became a student at the Accademia Internazionale di Imola “Incontri col Maestro,” where he studied with Boris Petrushansky. Since then, he has returned to the Moscow Conservatory as a graduate student to continue his studies with Eliso Virsaladze. Vitaly is laureate of several international competitions, including: Second Prize and Special Prize at VII Konstantin Igumnov Competition for Young Pianists (2008); First Prize at 22nd Young Musician International Music Competition “Città di Barletta” (2011); First Prize and Audience Prize at 26th Epinal International Piano Competition (2017); First Prize at V Premio Roberto Melini Competition (2019); and Third Prize at 23rd International Piano Competition “Mauro Paolo Monopoli Prize” (2020). He has also performed as a soloist of the Saint-Petersburg Music House, in addition to solo recitals, chamber concerts and concertos with orchestra around the world.
