Ziyu Liu is a student of Arie Vardi at the Hochschule für Musik Theater und Medien Hanover. He has won several international competitions, including First Prize at the 70th “Giovan Battista” Viotti International Music Competition (2019), First Prize and the Beethoven Concerto Prize at the 29th Città di Cantù International Piano and Orchestra Competition (2019), and First Prize at the Singapore International Piano Competition (2019). Liu has performed in many countries including Austria, Sweden, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, China, and Singapore, and in many major concert halls such as the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing, Weimarhalle in Weimar, Sota Concert Hall in Singapore, Shanghai Concert Hall and Shandong Grand Theatre in China. Liu’s other interests include reading books on music aesthetics, philosophy and literature. He also loves traveling and cuisine.
