Eva Wang

EVA WANG is a 15-year-old pianist born in Vienna in August 2010. She began her piano studies at the age of six and was admitted at age ten to the Programme for Gifted Children at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw), where she studied with Prof. Vladimir Kharin. Eva is currently enrolled in mdw’s Preparatory Programmes, studying with Prof. Christopher Hinterhuber, and also receives artistic guidance from Prof. Wolfgang Manz.
Eva has received numerous national and international competition honors. Her awards include First Prize at the International Piano Competition & Festival MozARTe (Aachen, Germany), First Prize at the International Béla Bartók Piano Competition (Graz, Austria), Second Prize at the International Hans-von-Bülow Competition (Meiningen, Germany), and Prizewinner at the International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition for Children and Youth (Szafarnia, Poland). She has also earned multiple First Prizes at Austria’s Prima la Musica regional and national competitions, Second Prize at the STEINWAY Piano Competition (Hamburg, Germany, 2024), First Prize at the International Jenö Takács Piano Competition for Young Pianists (Burgenland, Austria, 2024), and First Prize at the IMF – International Music Festival & Competition (Paris, France, 2025). Most recently, Eva participated in the live Preliminary Round of the Gina Bachauer Junior/Young Artists International Piano Competition (Hamburg, Germany, 2026).
Eva has given solo recitals in Vienna, Trier, and China, gaining valuable performance experience and leaving a lasting impression on audiences. These appearances have led to regular performance invitations at venues including the Trinkhalle Bad Ischl, Bösendorfer Salon Vienna, MusikTheater an der Wien, Steinway Haus Vienna, and the Altes Rathaus Vienna.
She has also appeared as a soloist with the Lyra Chamber Orchestra, performing works such as Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in F Minor, Op. 21 and Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A Minor, Op. 16. In addition, Eva has participated in masterclasses with Anna Malikova, Lilya Zilberstein, Eldar Nebolsin, and Antti Siirala. Alongside her solo activities, she is actively involved in chamber music projects at mdw, collaborating with peers and developing her ensemble skills.
