Pianist WILSON LIU, from California, was admitted to the Juilliard School Pre-College Division at age seven, where he received the Bachauer Prize with a full scholarship and won the Concerto Competition. He currently studies with Hung-Kuan Chen and Tema Blackstone.

Wilson was nominated into the Artemisia Foundation, where he worked with distinguished pedagogues such as Jerome Lowenthal, Veda Kaplinsky, and Misha Voskressenski, and collaborated with opera star Leah Hawkins.

At age nine, Wilson appeared on PBS’s Great Performances: Now Hear This. Representing the youngest generation of artists, he was also invited to perform at Juilliard’s annual scholarship benefit, the school’s largest celebration event, where he received high acclaim.

A 2025–26 From the Top fellow, Wilson’s music and interviews will be featured on NPR broadcasts, podcasts, and social media platforms.

Since beginning his piano studies, Wilson has earned top prizes in numerous competitions, including the Kaufman Music Center International Youth Piano Competition, XIV Chopin International Piano Competition (Hartford, CT), and Chicago International Music Competition. As the youngest contestant, he won both the International Young Artist Concerto Competition (Chicago, 2025) and the Young Artist Concerto Competition (Vancouver, WA, 2025), leading to upcoming performances with Seen Worldwide, NPO, and the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra in Washington.

Most recently, Wilson won the Nashville International Chopin Piano Competition (2025), receiving the Junior Alexei Sultanov Prize, an honor created especially for him.

Wilson deeply values the joy and growth he experiences in preparing for performances and looks forward to continuing to learn and share music with his fellow pianists.
