Yu Qin Lu

YU QIN LU is a Chinese pianist currently studying at the Primary & Middle School at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing under the guidance of Professor Chang Hua. He began studying the piano at the age of 5 and has since developed a solid and systematic foundation in professional piano training. 

Yu Qin has appeared in numerous public concerts and music festivals, performing at venues such as the National Library of China, the Beijing International Conference Center, the Beijing City Library, the Shenzhen Concert Hall, and the Cadillac Shanghai Symphony Hall. In 2024, he appeared as a concerto soloist in a collaborative performance with orchestra at the Cadillac Shanghai Symphony Hall. In 2025, he was invited to perform at the 10th Anniversary Concert of the Fan Jianqin Scholarship at the Bechstein Center Concert Hall. 

Yu Qin has received several major competition awards. In 2025, he was awarded the Gold Medal (Piano Group, Under 35) at the Chengdu Golden Lotus Music Competition. He also won First Prize in the Professional Youth Group at the Shanghai Magnolia International Music Festival, First Place in the Professional Youth Group at the Shenzhen Piano Open Competition, and First Prize at the Birmingham International Music Competition (UK). 

Artistically, Lu is particularly drawn to the Russian and German-Austrian piano traditions, valuing their emphasis on structural clarity, depth of expression, and tonal richness. He continues to explore these musical ideals in his studies and performances.
