Shuan Hern was born in Perth, where he began studying piano, voice, music theory, and composition with his father, Yoon Sen Lee, at the age of two. He has performed solo recitals in Australia, the U.S., Asia, and Europe, and has appeared with the West Kazakhstan Philharmonic Orchestra, National Symphonic Orchestra of Ukraine, State Symphony Orchestra “Novaya Rossiya” in Moscow, Armenia State Philharmonic Orchestra, National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia, Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra, Imola Chamber Orchestra, Minnesota Orchestra, Perth Symphony Orchestra, and the West Australian Symphony Orchestra. Shuan Hern has won prizes at several international competitions, including first prize at the 2017 e-Piano Junior Competition, first prize and special prize for best performance of a Schumann piece at the 2017 Robert Schumann Competition for Young Pianists, and first prize and youngest finalist prize at the 2017 Palma d’Oro Young Artists International Music Competition. He continues to study with Yoon Sen Lee at the University of Western Australia and also with Ingrid Fliter at the International Piano Accademy Incontri Col Maestro, Italy.
